In line with our dedication to environmental stewardship and education, IGARSS 2024 proudly presents a special Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity: Remote Sensing Students Projects - Empowering School Communities for Environmental Solutions.
About the Activity:
Primary and secondary education students will showcase their knowledge of remote sensing gained through their participation in the SpaceEDUnity Erasmus+ Project. Utilizing EO Browser satellite data, students will address and monitor environmental problems in their communities. Specific guidelines for project development were provided, aligning with the themes of IGARSS 2024.
Objective:
Our aim is to empower students with practical skills in Earth observation and environmental problem-solving. By engaging with real-world data and challenges, students will develop a deeper understanding of the importance of remote sensing in environmental monitoring and management.
Why It Matters:
As the future custodians of our planet, it's crucial to equip students with the tools and knowledge to tackle environmental issues effectively. By involving them in hands-on projects that utilize satellite data, we inspire a sense of curiosity and responsibility towards Earth's well-being, fostering a new generation of environmentally-conscious citizens.
